About Us
Growing up on an egg farm, my depression-era father instilled in me a work ethic that is rare in today’s world. Shortly after leaving the farm, I began working for a family-owned heavy-equipment business where, for eight years, I operated a large variety of machinery (loaders, dozers, excavators, pans, dump trucks, etc) clearing land, building roads and associated drainage, preparing home sites, digging ponds and more.
Clearing land, moving dirt, and satisfying customers…we derive our satisfaction from developing your property’s potential.
Testimonials
In June 2021, I met David Crain, Sr. I was needing a 30 X 50’ wood-framed, metal-siding building constructed. David assured me he could build it. Boy, was he right! We picked the site. With David’s keen eye, he knew exactly how to grade the land for water to drain. He designed the building according to my needs, cleared trees and stumps, and compacted the ground to prepare the land for the concrete building pad to be poured. David always listened to my suggestions and built the building I had always dreamed of owning. During the whole process, David was helpful, professional, and friendly. David is a man of his word. If he tells you something, you can count on it.

A couple of years ago, David was hired to remove some trees and clean up an old fence line. He showed up when he said he would and did an excellent job. He is a fair and honest man.

David Crain has the true American spirit that seems to be vanishing from our society these days. He has a strong work ethic, and high ethical standards. He will listen carefully to your concerns and always strives to meet his customer's expectations. David is indeed a rare find! He is the only contractor that I have found that is unwilling to cut corners or find excuses to increase the job cost. What follows is my experience of working with him.During the pandemic, we discovered our drainage problem when a large sinkhole suddenly opened up in our yard. At first it seemed to be a minor annoyance but as I investigated it further, the depth of the mud at the bottom of the hole made me realize that it could be dangerous to small animals or persons. A heavy rainstorm filled the hole up and the water did not recede as it had in the past. I hand dug a drainage path and discovered another very small sink hole. The water drained form the first sink hole but these little holes revealed a major systemic failure of our buried drainage pipe. A few months later, a sinkhole developed in my neighbor's yard I knew I had to fix this lest it put his driveway at risk for collapse. My neighbor hired someone to fill the hole and I asked him for quote to repair my drainage issue. While he declined to give me a quote, he wanted to refer me to another contractor who could fix it correctly. However, when he revealed the ballpark figure that that contractor would likely charge I declined. I discussed my dilemma with David Crain and he came to see if he could help. David did an assessment and gave me an affordable quote. However, when David began working on the project, he encountered a large amount of buried wood, concrete and other debris that greatly increased the difficulty of the task. David immediately communicated these and other long term safety concerns he realized I would have. He proposed solutions and explained the reasons why these changes should be be made. He was careful to obtain our neighbor’s permission when it became necessary dig on their property to correct the main failure. He always consulted with me before making any changes or major decisions. He bought a high quality pipe in order to fix the issue. I saw because he was doing the job right and being mindful of others this was eating his profit of the job. However, because he had made an agreement with me, he would not ask for more money. After I strongly insisted, he did accept additional payment to cover the unforeseen difficulties and expenses of the job. David not only gave me a fair price but he also did a great job. He solved my drainage issue in a very professional manner and proved to be a trustworthy man of his word. In short, David puts the safety of others, and quality of his work, above profit.
